Ice House Detroit
Ice House Detroit is an architectural installation and social change project that was just completed by Matthew Radune and Gregory Holm in Detroit, Michigan, during the winter of 2009-2010. One of 20,000 abandoned houses in the city was frozen in solid ice, referencing contemporary urban conditions in the city and beyond. The house was frozen slowly in over a week using a firehose hooked up to the nearest hydrant.

This is the final image of the installation, shot by Gregory Holm and Matthew Radune, utilizing the lighting skills of Richard Sands.
The series of photos below, shot by Matthew Radune, emphasizes the more science fiction elements of the architectural installation – referencing work by Tarkovsky and Herzog.
